Installing new O2 Sensor in my 02 S60 - need some help

Post by mrbluesky »

Hey,
They unscrewing of the sensor to the exhaust pipe was a breeze, thanks to the use of a penetrant. I do not know how to detach the old plug from its electrical interface. Can someone please tell me how to do this? Im attempting to access it from the top of the vehicle, do I need to jack the car up and access it from below? The big issue is getting the old one off because Im not sure how it unplugs. Thank you!

the side of the connector slides to the side and it pushes the two halves apart. Installs in reverse, latch out, insert connector, push in latch and pieces come together.

Thank you for the reply! I am accessing the plug from the top of the engine drivers side. Ive pushed on the side of the old/installed connector and its interface to the left and it does not budge. I may be confused as to what you mean by 'side'. It's very tight and Im not so sure I understand your directions. Is the latch the light grey plastic piece and does it move up and down? Thanks!
