What advice would you give about buying a 2004.5 s40 t5 with 63,000 miles what should I look for, what problems can i expect around 100,000 miles

Crankcase vent can be a problem just as on othe Volvos. Adequate oil service history delays when/if this will happen.
T belt at 105 and serpentine belts then, if not before. Broken serpentine belt poses risks for timing belt breakage if it wraps pulley and pushes into timing belt cover.
A/C compressor and oil pan is far more vulnerable on this model. If you have any history of curb bumps then a guard from aftermarket sources is a good idea.

what about a 2006 s40? Any problems with that year?
