The interior driver side door handle on my car is not opening the door. When I remove the interior door panel, the plastic clip that holds the cable mechanism that connects to the interior door handle is broken. My son-in-law tried using some industrial strength glue to put it back together but it just broke again. Does anyone know if the part is replaceable?
The entire door panel is over $400 and I am hoping to repair it myself without replacing the entire door panel.

I have the same problem I think. My latch came detached and my volvo dealership glued it but it broke again!! I am frustrated. I also have not found a non-400 dollar answer! If I do I will post!

Hey there....I found this forum/thread while researching the same problem, which I had on my 2002 V70XC. I took off the inside door panel and sure enough, that blasted little plastic piece was cracked (what a design flaw!). I looked all over the Internet for a replacement, tried drilling and wiring it but it was Mickey Mouse at best. I found a junkyard online (Erie VoVo, but there are many others), ordered a replacement door panel (they even matched my not-very-typical color pattern, by using my VIN) for $125 including shipping. It got here and I installed it in less than 15 minutes, and it works great.

It looks like the clip is replaceable. Here is a diagram and parts listing for you: http://www.volvowholesaleparts.com/part ... atalogid=0

It is a separate piece, but the problems were twofold: firstly, my local Volvo dealer professed to not be able to sell that piece without the whole panel (and junkyards wouldn't pull it off their doors either), and it's held in place by these strange rivet things that looked as if they would require destroying in order to remove. I did hear from some eBay seller that it was possible to adhere the replacement part using high-strength epoxy, but my experience with using glue on parts that require movement and stress has been not at all positive. This fix was incredibly easy, labor-wise, and at $125 seemed reasonable.
your best bet is those U pull it wreck yards, the ones where you go and look and remove the part yourself.
If they have the same car in the lot, you can remove the whole door handle mechanism from the donor door.
