Hey I was wondering if anyone could help me, I just bought a used 1989 740 GL and the guy who had it before decided to be a bum when he was putting in his aftermarket stereo. Instead of paying 10 bucks to get a wiring harness he just went in with cutters. Now that I have the car, I want to put in my old headdeck but because he made such a mess with the wires I am afraid to just go in guns blazing. If any one can help me in the form a the wiring setup that would be great.

Here you have the colours for 740, 1986. Most probably you have the same colours:

GN-R = constant feeding
OR = power feeding
R = to power antenna
Y-W = left front+
W = left front -
Y-GR = right front +
GR = right front -
SB = ground
BL = connection at instrument (light level)
YB-B = left rear +
B = left rear -
Y-SB = right rear +
SB = right rear -
