242 AC/POWER STEERING UPGRADE

Post by DBULL »

MY old york ac compressor is obviously shot.I have access to a parts car with the later style ac compressor and power steering pump with the separate resivoir.Since both are a direct bolt on swap,I'd like to bolt them on together.Has anyone on here done this swap? Will the ac hoses and ps lines be a direct connection? Thanks DBULL

I did the bracket swap and used the compressor but adapted the original pump to the bracket. I can't remember now why I didn't use the pump. It has been 20+ years ago.
I do remember the car was FAR more pleasant to drive with A/C on. The 2 cylinder York compressors rumbled on everything they were ever used.

I did this swap on a 240z several years ago and it made a world of difference. The york would about throw you thru the windsheild if you kicked it on at speed.DBULL
