S40 purchasing help

Post by OscarpJr »

Hello everyone,

I'm in the market for an S40 T5. I had only been looking at 2007,but inthe past couple of days I've found three that I need advice on.

2005 s40 t5; awd; 26,903 miles on it; $15,868 listed price

2006 s40 t5; fwd; 50,613 miles; $16,983

2007 s40 t5; awd; 62,969 miles; $16,990

I wasn't looking for awd, but it's hard to find a t5 around here, so I'll take what I can. In terms of mileage to price, the 05 looks great...maybe too great. Could be that it wasnt used much, or that it was always broken down! I wanted an 07 because of finance rates on used cars through my bank, but these 3 are pretty much all I've found, and all are 6-10 hours away. I would be getting a pre purchase inspection done, but here at last is the question: Are there any major differences in reliability between these model years? Or would I be equally served by any of the three? I cant find much difference in the way of looks- all have leather and well taken care of int/ext...Which do you think would be the best value?

Thanks for any help.
