Just wanted to post results on how I replaced control arm bushings on my 00 S80 T6. I know the manual has a very long repair on this with dropping the subframe. Others in the forum lifted engine on passenger side to get at the 2 - 17mm bolts, and on drivers side dropping trans pan and lifting tranny a little...
Well I did it a little different, and much easier..
I purchased
(not these exast ones) but offset around 75 degree wrenches. With my leg as additional torque I was able to loosen the old bolts, and take control arm out. The bolts do not have enough room to come out so you leave them in the car. When tightening you are not able to get a torque wrench in there so again I used my trusty leg which I'm sure got over 100Ib'ft of torque to those bolts.I just didn't want to remove the tranny pan and have to re-seal it, since its nice and dry now and fluid inside is clean. I also have a press so I popped in new bushings myself (watch the order they go out, because control arm is tapered)
I had a problem with shaky steering wheel over 110km/h and after these new bushings the shakes are gone. BTW I only replaced the back bushing, the front one seemed perfectly fine. The rear one was completly worn out.
Hope it helps someone..
Thanks,
