I need phpMyAdmin access from my workstation to administer the db. I like/enjoy/appreciate the efficiency of the shell command line, but I'm no masochist :-). MySQL needs no outside connections.

Thanks kcody. I'll contact you in the next day or two off-board with specifics if you don't mind.

One thing for anyone reading this: if you need industrial-strength VPS, go with Slicehost (a Rackspace company). They are competent, solid, reliable, helpful... I could go on and on. They give up a little in the cost battle vs. other VPS providers, but if it's a business and thousands of users access the site a day like MVS, saving $20 a month is "penny wise/pound foolish". You get what you pay for.

If you want to try them, I get Slicehost credits for referrals. They'll need my email address when you sign up -- funtent[at]gmail[dot]com.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!
