While you've got it far enough apart to be replacing the spring seats (all the way apart) there are other items to consider replacing preemptively, even if they're not worn.

There's the upper strut mounting/bushing, as I understand there's actually two pieces up there to worry about somehow, I haven't done it myself yet, and the bump stops inside the top of the spring.

Sway bar end links are another cheap shot. Some swear by the IPD HD's, but I think, and many indies say, stick with the OE's, yes they're a quick point of failure, and they're meant to be - so something more expensive doesn't overflex instead.

Today we got a bit over 3/4 of a tank for over $50.00 (ouch!!!) 91 octane.
Good news is, that with a mixture of higway, about 20 miles or so, and city driving.
18.9 at the computer, quite a jump of more than 4 miles per gallon..
Thats full on ac and hot weather.

Will try the seafoam next, in a couple days if its stable on the mpg.

My IPD HD links lasted 8 months/6500 miles. Not impressed. The ones my mechanic used to replace them were 1/3 the price...

I'd try to get your hands on OEM ones. I've got one original still to the car at 192000 miles; the other was changed for an xc90 OEM at 160k and has been good since.

I got the Sea Foam, and went over to read the posts on the forum about it, so if I understood correctly, I need a bottle 16oz, just for my gas tank, since it says an ounce per gallon (the S70 is almost 19 gallons, correct?) the I would have to use some for inside the engine via the oil, and then do the vacuum line gig which is the one that worries everyone.. So obvious I will need at least another 16 oz can?

Dont know if you saw my post about the plugs, Advance auto computer database says this car uses "double platinum" is there a difference or I should just go with Bosch copper as you suggested?

I had changed plugs, air filter and oil about six months ago, the only store with the K&N filter is about 45 minutes from here and they want $46.00 which is only a couple more bucks than what I've seen in Ebay..

Now on the search for timing belt, etc..and suspension parts..

Don't use the double platinum. Mine actually ran fine with Autolite Platinums, but the majority of them are super picky and will develop misfires after a few thousand miles. IIRC Advance doesn't carry copper plugs - I got mine at Autozone.

If your plugs aren't that old, pull one out and have a look at it & check the gap - and take note of what you installed in there.

I only used one can of seafoam - 1/3 in the oil, 1/3 in the gas tank (when run to about 1/3-1/4 tank again), and 1/3 gets sucked into the intake. Change the oil about 3 days after running it through.

Yep, autozone had them, $1.99 each, not bad.
I will wait on the sea foam, just got the tank 3/4 for $50.00 friggin bucks !!!!
The car was driven a combo of highway (about 15,maybe 20 miles ) and city the MPG jumped to 18.9

I think I would cry if that was the best mileage I got on the highway. That's no better than a V8.

What kind of speeds did this run entail?
