Does any body know how to extend the range of the keyless entry system?, the only way I can get mine to work is to hold it up against the windshield in front of the glass break sensor and press the fob. If I hold it any further away it doesnt work at all...
I've tried new batteries in the remote and the remote itself doesnt look that old but I just Can't get it to work any ideas besides a can of gas and some matches?.

Poor design, bad luck, call it what you will -- the 850's remotes just stop working well over time. I switched to my backup fob a year ago after the main fob did the same thing as yours -- lose range. Also, mine started locking instead of opening at times, etc.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.
Also -> Amazon link. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

Spoke to a guy at a local(ish)volvo place recently and he said that volvo alarms are only good for about five years before they pack up, however he's had two cars in recently with the same fault as mine and in both cases he had to install a new receiver with remotes, normaly this costs around two hundred quid but volvo do a piggyback version that is an addon to the existing system , this costs half the price and still comes with two new remotes. Before anybody says it yes I did try new batteries and I also tried to code a new fob as well but with no avail, havent got the money for the part untill next month but if it does what it should then I'll be sorted..........

Hey,
I was considering buying another remote for my car, so I was looking for how to program them (because if I went to the dealer it would cost near $100
) and I came across this site:
http://au.geocities.com/ozbrick850/keyl ... geext.html
It details how to increase the range for your remote. I haven't tried it (yet?) but it sounds like it should work.
LMK if anyone tries it.

I don't know, butt I know sometimes you could make a tin foil thing and wrap it around, or try and make some sort of antenna for it. I do't know, just a suggestion.
