Wheel Bearings

Hi I have 2005 S40 and I was told by a mechanic who drove my car that I need wheel bearings. The car is making noise sounds like the wheels. How much should this cost me at a local Garage. How long should I wait to get it fixed :D

He should have given you a quote with: Time, $/hour, Parts necessary and price/part.
Any shop will quote you for free with the difference being labor rate and parts mark-up. The time should be the same for the same job. Be sure to compare apples to apples. Look up parts online and locally to compare. Mark-up is the price of convenience and warranty repair.
