Hi, I have intalled an aftermarket HU, a JVC with DVD player.
The installer is very good and everything works as expected but it doesn't sound good. The OEM unit sounds fuller. Does anyone know if the stock speaker setup runs a Zobel network or any other setup matching OEM HU?
It is not a big problem because I'm upgrading the speakers too but I'm just a bit dissapointed and curious about this issue.
Thanks and Happy New Year!

The problem may be that the installer may have had to bypass the factory amp. I'm not a huge car audio guy or anything, but I can tell you that if you go with an aftermarket HU and you want good sound, it's important that you throw an extra amp in your trunk to power your speakers and then another amp to power your sub(s).

There is no external amps in this car, (850 turbo 95), just the stereo and the CD changer.White850Turbo wrote:The problem may be that the installer may have had to bypass the factory amp.

Many of the 850's came with stock amps. See the graphics below.Anonymous wrote:There is no external amps in this car, (850 turbo 95), just the stereo and the CD changer.White850Turbo wrote:The problem may be that the installer may have had to bypass the factory amp.
