Volvo S80 2003 RSE problem

Hi all.

i bought this beauty during winter and have been most satisfied with her.

one problem though. it has normal HU-601 stereo system available WITH additional Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) system installed also. i suppose, this was part of Executive trim level.

it should be turned ON using remote controller, but it does not =/

Remote is working correctly, audio controls are working correctly using that. also, remote is "sending" something, when ON/OFF for RSE is pressed. this was tested simply by checking it with normal digital camera (pointed remote to camera lens and pressed ON/OFF button. in camera lens, infra red is "visible")

Also i have checked all corresponding fuses and visible connectors and all seems to be ok.

i also opened actual DVD-player from center console. when disconnecting and reconnecting two connectors (similar than in normal DIN-car stereo connectors) from rear of DVD unit, it was noticeable, that unit woke up for a second (some initial start up buzzing sound came out, just like when You connect your car stereo for the first time and it releases possible previously inserted CD out).

does anyone know, what else can be checked?

it would be nice to have this RSE working for summer vacation trips =)
