Cold Driver, Hot Passenger

Post by ColoradoAndy »

Last year my passenger side vents started blowing warm air when the A/C was on. The driver side (my side) blew nice and cold. I took it to a local Volvo shop and they told me that I had no leaks and I just needed refrigerant. It worked great for the remainder of the summer. It is now starting to get warm again and I have noticed that the problem is beginning to appear again. This leads me to believe that I may actually have a leak. I have owned a bunch of cars and on the few that I had to add refrigerant I did it once and never again. Any thoughts or ideas of what I could do would be awesome.

I have a 2004 XC90 T6.

That vehicle was built with refrigerant with fluorescent dye. Get a blacklight and a dark place and see if something psychedelic shows up. You likely have a rear air and the evaporator is behind left rear cargo are. There are connections under rear of second row seat too.
