16" Wheels - type, offset, etc...

Post by volvoS70FAN »

I have a low mileage 1998 S70 T5 (90000 km) that I was lucky enough to buy almost a year ago, and love everything about this car. Other than not being able to reset the the service light (as described on this site with the odometer), the car's worked great. The only thing that I would really like to replace are the wheels. The car came with stock 16" wheels and $10 plastic generic hubcaps (two have fallen off already). I'd like to keep the wheels at 16" as I just purchased new 16" perfermance tires. What is the offest on this car? Will any 850 wheels fit? I heard its the same offset as Ford. Is this true? Volvo wants a lot of money for their new wheels, but it doesn't have to be volvo wheels. Just something that looks good and doesn't require hubcabs. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, any 850 wheels will work...16's are the size to stay with, IMHO. don't know about Ford or anyone else's. Look on eBay...sometimes someone's selling some there. Also here, the the swedespeed forum: http://forums.swedespeed.com/zeroforum?id=48
The Perfo wheels (in size 15) is what your car should have come with. Someone has some for sale on the swedespeed forum now. Here's the link: http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=50351
You can also go over to www.tirerack.com and click on wheels and then select your car. A picture of your car will come up and as you click on the type of wheels available for it, the picture will change, showing that actual wheel on your car. They have some good looking, less expensive wheels on there and the Tirerack has always given me great service.
