Converting a radio/cassette/CD for home use.

Hi to all Volvo drivers.
I really like my S40 radio, and I have an idea to try to find one in a scrap dealer, to convert to use in the home. It is compact and high standard and I'd like to build on 2 speakers and a transformer rectifier for the 12 V suply. The first problem I see is overcoming the radio code, as when ever it was switched off at the power point the code would need re-setting.
Has anyone any idea about how to permanently by-pass the code? I might be crazy, but if I can get one it would be a good hobby job for me.
