Where to buy replacement door panel - '96 850 GLT

Hello all,

The door handle casing/panel on my Interior Front Passenger Door Panel ripped off. I tried repairing it will epoxy and vinyl glue but now it looks pretty horrible and is definitely not sturdy enough for someone to close the door using it.

I am selling this car in August and need to replace the entire door panel, I am guessing, and am wondering if anyone has any insight into where I can find a replacement. Below is an Ebay link to a door panel I THINK might work but I would love it if any of you can help clarify/confirm that this indeed will be a match. It is from a 1995 Volvo GLT and I have a 1996 Volvo GLT - not sure if that makes a difference...

Have you tried hitting up a local junkyard to see if they might have them?

Check Erie Volvo ad above, they have all kinds of used parts for Volvos. This helps with price analyses.

The place on ebay that I listed is a junkyard in Ohio. Their price is super reasonable - $39.00 plus $25.00 for shipping - at least compared to what I was expecting. The only thing I am unsure about is if that panel will be a perfect match to my current one. Are all interior door panel "color schemes" the same in 850 GLT's 1995 & 1996?

If you go to that Ebay link and look at the picture, it looks like it will be a match in color except for that strip of padding and leather right above the door handle and possibly the bottom carpet section. It looks dark grey in this picture and mine is the same color as the rest of the door - a light beige. Or perhaps the picture is just poor quality and/or there are shadows on that part of the door causing it to look darker?

If the colors do mismatch, does the door panel come off in sections? If I just needed that middle section minus the leather strip above the handle and the carpet section below, is this possible?

Any insight?

Otherwise I'll just have to keep looking... So far, I've searched all the major Volvo Parts sites and turned up with nada.

P.S. Eerie, along with the other sponsors above, didn't have an 850 Door Panel - not one I could find that is.

Did you actually talk to someone at Erie? They may not list it, but they may have it.

Vands auto Dismantlers in California is another huge Volvo junkyard. I've gotten things from them before.

From the pictures you've posted it won't match your car. Your car looks to have a tan colored interior and the eBay picture is definately a gray. My 3 years experience crawling through the local self service junkyard has shown me the variations.

Try these guys , I go to the U pull yard in Toronto and have a margin of success. I know Connecticut is not around the corner from the Niagara, but have found these guys to be helpful.

If at all possible try to match up the interior code on the donor car with your interior code.. The code is listed on the product plate just above the battery on the left side inner fender well.
