S80 alternator fluctuating

99 s80 T6 - this vehicle has elec gremlins that come & go. Latest was instrument cluster shutting off on way to work. Checked volts @ term in engine bay @ idle. Meter reads from 14.1 to 13.6. After 5 min meter reads 13.6 to 12.5. My '98 S70 stays within .05 volts. Rebuilt @ dealer (ouch). Ideas? Thx!

The model of Bosch alternator used on early S80 and a bunch of other Euro made cars had voltage regulator issues.
They will undercharge and over charge.
What was rebuilt?
Was the alternator replaced before?
