Parting out a 2001 s80 turbo. 96,000 miles

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Parting out a 2001 s80 turbo. 96,000 miles

Post by Sleepy01 »

I have a 2001 s80 turbo w96,000 miles. The timing belt broken resulting in an unknown number of valves being bent.
Shop want 2500 to pull the head and it's amity 500 to 1500 to get them machined. Or I can buy a new
Engine for 4000 installed. A dealer offered me 1000 for it as is.

The?: Is it worth worth more than a 1000 if I parted it out?

I really don't know about where you are located but, I just bought a 2001 S80 with 100k. The engine has a hole in the side of the block, something inside of the engine decided to leave and now engine is basically junk.

I paid $1800 for this car and feel like I got a pretty good deal. It is a very clean and nice car that has always been dealer maintained.

Maybe run a add in Craigslist and see if someone bites at $2000?? Maybe see if a out of work mechanic can install a used engine for you at a good price?

Good Luck!
