How do I turn up the Boost on my 940?

How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

Post by Alex »

Hey I got a 93 940 wagon and its quick but i want to turn the boost up in it to about 10 and then creep it to 12. I have Intake, A/F ratio and boost gauge, and im about to get exhaust but i cant figure out how to turn my boost up. Can anyone help me?

pop off your turbo actuator from the pivot point on the exhaust pipe tighten the rod so it becomes shorter and put back on there might be a lock nut on the arm too so you will want to undo that first try about 3 turns and put it back on

I may be mistaken, but the other reply from the guest guy is wrong. At least it's wrong for the mitsu 13g type turbo. The segestion given is better to do on a garrett type turbo. I just installed my boost gauge, air/fuel meter and an XS Turbo brand boost controller. http://www.extremeparts.com/01_bc_isbc.html will save you ten dollars or from the dealer, http://www.turboxs.com/shop_prod.php?what_category=1 . Anyway I have been watching mine for two days @12psi and I haven't seen any creep. I will go to 14psi today and watch for a lean condition. The quality boost controller is the ONLY way you should increase boost. I am an ASE certified Tech with a college degree, trust me. Good luck and keep us posted!
