intermittent wipes don't work

Post by Susan Bailey »

We can't figure out why but there doesn't seem to be a reason why they work correctly sometimes and not others. We know all about the rain sensor stuff but in blinding rain they will just cut out completely. Has anyone experienced this?

Just to clarify... are you saying there's an issue with the intermittent wipers or the rain sensor wipe setting? or both?

Must say I've had the rain sensor setting also..in very heavy rain mis-behave. It seems to work better well..no in heavy rain!
Works by bouncing infrared light of the windscreen and analyses what's reflected back...more water droplets there are..the less that's reflected straight back..perhaps when it's very heavy there's no droplets as such...such a film of water which may cause a good reflection back..so it thinks it's not raining.
