I actually bought a set of 6/9 sony explodes for the rear deck in my 850. They were excellent for the price and sounded very good!

You'll probably do better pulling one out of a Volvo at the junkyard.
It'll be way cheap, and the stock speakers are actually pretty good.
And if you find out that it's not the speaker, but something else,
you just saved money!

Does it absolutely kill some of you to attempt to spell and punctuate?
"Know" and "Now" are 2 completely different words, with completely different meanings.
I'm honestly fearful that people who don't KNOW the difference are sharing the road with me.

I'm actually a bit more worried about a pathological speller driving around on my roads!
Just kidding.

I had an all-around set of Sony Xplod's in my previous car. They sounded GREAT actually - for 4 speakers, it had some awesome bass to it.

OK, I know all the pros and cons. I've installed more car audio systems than I can count. And I love salvage yards.
The stock Volvo speakers are OK. The premium sound system speakers are great. THe stock Volvo sspeakers however are mass-auto-industry-OEM parts and sub-par. I needed to do an audio upgrade on a budget and went with Sony Xplod series all around. I got one set at Walmart in fact.
I could not possibly be happier. These are the best price/performance budget speakers Ive ever seen and WAY better than my stock Volvo cones.
