I pulled the codes today and got 02 sensor and MAF sensor. I reset them and had three or four glorious minutes of driving with a dark dash. Then the flashing arrow comes back and, with it, the CEL. I pulled in to another auto parts store and pulled them again and this time got speed sensor. I just replaced the speed sensor with a known good unit. Could the speed sensor imply something else?

My wish came true. I began to suspect that the symptoms were suggesting that the speed sensor (NOT the RPM sensor) was not connected. It was late when I put the engine back in and I overlooked the sensor connection, right next to the two 02 sensors, which I did connect. Once I thought to look there, it was obvious. The sheer joy of the easy fix overrules the pain of feeling like a dumba$$.

Certainly. It drives me batty to read a post, trying to find a solution, only to find that the thread was never resolved and the OP just vanished.
