Brake failure light

ok, xc90 AWD 2.5 Brake system Failure Stop Safely warning along with ABS and Break dummy light. Trip meter not working nor any msg(MPG, avg Speed etc). I have seen some posts on this but nothing conclusive. The Volvo dealer ran diags. and they are pointing at some sort of communication error. Wiring? I asked about the BCM and they say No. But also one fault point at Brake Pedal sensor(saw other posts where this was changed but did not fix issue)

I stopped at the local Import car repair shop very reliable they are saying after doing a quick scan at N/C it is the ABS module? This would run about 1000.00

What to do is the question?

only good thing here is that i am not recording any miles on the Car...... it currently has 106K
