2001 S80 code P1330

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

2001 S80 code P1330

Post by torch »

OBD II code P1330 on 2001 S80 2.9 Changed plugs, changed oil, removed intake VVT and cleaned. Reset CEL, light comes back on with same code P1330. Checked on-line for replacement and find there are two different VVTs, an intake and an exhaust. The one by timing cams is stamped INTAKE. Anyone tell me where the EXHAUST one might be and which one code P1330 refers to. Thanks.

I have wrestled with these two codes for 9 months. Replaced the camshaft solenoid three times and still have P1330 and p 0010.
The result so far is that the ecm unit has a failure. I did a full top end overhaul timing belt, plugs , coils everything except the VVT hub.
One Volvo specialist tested the camshaft solenoid circuit and it was fine yet when the computer powered up the signal from the computer was way high mid spec is around 244 and it showed 250 apx. He mentioned it might be the ECM yet could not fully determine it.

Later I reached out to a company called BBA remanufacturing Inc once agin. They rebuilt my ABS unit and electronic seat module successfully with guarantee. In a phone call I asked if they offer a service of testing ECM car computer and described the codes. They responded YES we have repaired them in the past. Relating to mis fire signal and camshaft actuator. I have now sent my module in and will post the results. They reported if we test it and it is ok price 100 if not repairable 35 and if repairable 559. Thats seems to be the only thing left for me to do. I have changed the solenoid , cleaned it , cleared the codes and it returns again and again. Car is drivable yet not low end torque or high end acceleration. This is usually the culprit on the intake side of a 2.9 non turbo. Hope this helps.
