1995 940 mass air flow meter
Hello, I am calling to find where can i find a MAF Sensor (Bosch) for my 1995 940 4door sedan, not a turbo , as the local mechanic about to charge me a rediculous amount for it (due to taxation). I wish to get a quote and see if i can pass it here and install it by myself. the fault is a randomly low rpm which at times stall the engine in mid-drive. the lambda warning light is now constantly on. the garage say it is the fault of the MAF. what does the esteem forum think? yoav

try www.car-part.com nationwide link to about a zillion pick a parts. I got two air mass sensors for my 88 240 for $20 each. After you have searched go to page with asterisk for the lowest priced part. I think they call it an air flow meter on that site.

i just checked $35 if you have a 6 wire maf $25 if you have a 3 wire. Sure beats the hell out of the stealership.

indeed for that info, i was just offered this part for 337.09$, so i wonder if the 35$ you were shown is for renovated or brand new. . .Yoav

it is for a used part. that being said i was nervous about the two i bought so when they arrived i immediately plugged them in and tried them. both worked fine. If you replace yours also remember to replace thermostat for air box. if it fails maf overheats and dies again.
I have been trying to troubleshoot an irregular stalling / starting problem on a 1994 Volvo 940 Wagon. The issue has not been reproduced at a service center but it is annoying.
During high humidity (rain or about to rain) and / or low barometric pressure, I have problems or I am unable to start the 940. The engine may also stall on days with the same conditions even after it has been running for a period.
It is as if there is water in the lines causing sputtering and loss of power.
Does it make sense that it could be related to the MAF Sensor? Any advice to resolve the issue would be appreciated.
