Good Indie Shop Experience in Danbury CT

Post by 850 LPT »

I recently had some work done on my 850 at Beaver Brook Automotive in Danbury. The shop is owned by Peter Balch, a former Volvo mechanic. He also has a partner, Richard. That said, they are both extremely knowledgable about our cars and it shows that they enjoy them very much. The shop is very clean and I was greeted in a friendly atmosphere. They repair all makes but I saw only a bunch of Volvos inside and outside the shop.

The work I had them do was a timing belt replacement along with idlers and tensioner, a new water pump, and to fix a transmission leak. This turned out to be worn axle seals on both sides. They found a bad axle boot and replaced the axle with a rebuilt one. So far the transmission is totally dry, that was kind of my biggest concern.
Also on the list was a bad wheel bearing in the front passenger side. But both of them said that they could not reproduce the noise and so they left it alone. This really impressed me. I will bring it back though when it gets a little louder.

I also liked that they don't mind taking some time chatting about your car, they even complemented me on mine. That certainly never happened to me before. They also have a loaner car, which really helped me out.

So, if you are in Fairfield county, or even Westchester or Putnam county, I would definetivly give them a try.
