Volvo V70/XC70 vs. Mercedes-Benz ML

Post by Greg 020206 »

I am in the market for a new car. As a family man, I have narrowed down my list to V70 & Mercedes ML. They are both great cars, aside from their prices, my main concern is with safety.

- Would Mercedes ML be safer than V70 because of it's height & weight?
- Is XC70 safter than V70?

Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

If $ is no object, then it's a no brainer to me, get the Mercedes. Both would be well built from a safety standpoint.

really doesn't strike me as apples to apples - if you feel the heft of an SUV is what you need to be safe, you should be looking at the XC90, X5 & Cayenne to compare with that Chrysler - er, Benz I mean.....

You also need to check the customer satisfaction and number of "in-warrenty" repairs for the first 3 years of each. The safety of the SUV will be about the same but the quality if Mercedes has dropped off over the past few years.
