I'm running in to the following phenomenon.
V70 build 2001
When I have the CC on the airflow out of the vents reduces and finally drops to almost zero... when I shut of the AC the air flow comes back after a few minutes.
So I decided to have a AC checkup... the system was vacuumnized and refilled with R134a, over 10 years I lost about 40%.. not bad.
The AC man has filled up the system back to the described amount 1000gram R134a... I hoped this would have cured my problem... but it is still there... on CC and AC on the airflow drops .. after approx 10 minutes.. shutting down the AC restores the airflow. The fan (blower) works fine. So I think the AC evaporator freeze up blocking the airflow... Does some one recognise this problem??? and what can be done to solve it!!!
Looking forward to the replies.

AC problem... question
One step further,
I have spoken to the guy who have done the AC refill and he told me the following:
Problem could be caused by.
- Expansion valve fitted on the evaporator.
- Temperature sensor controlling the de-icing.
Depending on model of AC fitted in the car.
Anyone here experienced with my problem??? a 2001 model does it have a temperature sensor controlled de-icing or is it controlled by the expansion valve???
How hard is it to get to those parts ... pictures???!!!
Any help is much appreciated.

Frans....

I am having the same problem. I have recharged the system, put in a new control unit in the cabin, and had a valve replaced. No luck. Same thing, works about 30 minutes and then if I listen very carefully, I can hear some valve/door hiss in the dash and it starts to get humid and hot. If I turn it off for about 60 seconds, I hit the AC button, I hear a hiss of the door/valve opening, and it blows cold again for about 10 minutes. Something is telling the door/valve to close. Could it be the cabin AC sensor, or some other thing? Still hunting for solution.
MMMMM..... darn... In my case the flow stops completely .. you can hear the fan working like hell but barely air out of the vents. If I switch off the AC for a couple of minutes the air flow comes back.. cold and after that humid... at that moment I usually switch on the AC.. and become the nice dry and fresh air.. I have to repeat the cycle... I noticed that when I use re circulation the time interval becomes longer.. I guess due to dryer air so less ice buildup in the evaporator...
Lets see if we can become more answers and clue's here..

I am having the same problem with my S60, and I suspect the hi pressure cut off switch.
I'll bet that it is the same switch on both models and some are defective. I'm having trouble locating the switch to check it out.
The check would be simple. Either unplug the switch or jumper it to see if the problem goes away. Just need to locate the switch. Help. Help!

Full story:
Just changing out this sensor fixed it.
The is a 5 minute job.
Remove two screws from panel under steering wheel. Pull down to release and then pull out.
Look up in there and you will see a green connector to a white receptacle. Disconnect green plug. Pull receptacle, which is the sensor, out.
Replace.
I have replaced my sensor today.. it is even less than a 5 minute job
The AC works fine now no more icing.. and the compressor cuts out as it stayed engaged whole the time with the faulty sensor!
