1999 S70 AWD rear control arm Bolt...

...has sheared off. Yesterday afternoon I started noticing a squeeking sound from my drivers side rear. When I got out, saw that the back had sagged and the car was starting to pull. Removed the wheel and realized one of the 2 bolts holding the rear control arm to the subframe had snapped in half with the remainder of the bolt still in the subframe. Never really worked on cars and was wondering if anyone had any advice. Just thinking that the dealership may be cost prohibitive for me.

Sounds serious. Without looking at the car, it doesn't sound like something the uninitiated should attempt. Perhaps someone on this sight can point you in the direction of a good independent shop. This may need additional inspection on the rest of the suspension. You also may think about towing this to the shop. If the suspension lets go all the way the damage may exceed the cost of the tow. From your description of "sagging" it has already started. This might be your lucky indicator. Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Good luck Jon.

Sounds like it may be as easy as drilling out the stubby bits and getting some new bolts, but we'd have to see it to make sure. I'd keep it in the driveway until you can get this fixed.
