2005 XC90 module programming

Hi all:

I have a customer overseas with a 2005 XC90 who says "all computers: engine, AT, abs, srs even electric window switch computers are damaged."

Does anyone know if USED modules (assuming #s match) can be "zeroed" and re-programmed to his car (assuming his garage has right software)? His garage says only NEW modules will work. Any help would be appreciated.
