oh, sorry guys! i didn't get one. i meant "on the way" as in "on the way to the marketplace".

ooops!

i wish i had one on the way to me, but then again, knowing the S80's history, maybe not. my dad's '99 S80 has been good... ABS chip needs replacing (Vic Rocha), and it had the ball joint warranty replacement. but he drives it like a grandmother; he's much kinder to the car than the average driver, so i think that's given it fewer problems than the norm.

YouTube has this video of a 2007 S80 V8 accelerating to 100 km/h.

Those of you who have underwent a V8 conversion in your RWD now have something stock to compare to. ;-)

Taking advantage of the new YouTube Feature on MVS:

Haha, I had a 1980 244 with a Chevy V8 (350 bored 40 over) in it that I had a high lift camshaft, flat top pistons, and a port/polish job on the heads (I did it myself, so probably not super high performance)...

It would have got toasted by that S80 ;)

But it did had 311 gears because the old man that had it before me was a gas mileage nut.

I've always liked the S80 for general appearance and that one looks cool too. If I ever had the money to purchase an S80, I'd be buying something else though. If they put RWD and a V8 in a sedan and called it something else, I'd be drooling.

Not to mention that Yamaha V8 is married to an all wheel drivetrain. I bet it hugs the road like steel wheels on the railroad track.

Ford SI6 engine
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
Ford's Volvo Cars subsidiary designed the SI6 ("short inline 6") straight-6 automobile engine for use in 2006 models. An evolution of the company's long-used straight-5, which itself is an evolution of the Volvo B6304 straight six engine, the SI6 can be mounted transversely for front wheel drive applications or longitudinally for rear wheel drive. Despite the added cylinder and displacement, the engine remains compact, and is in fact 1 mm shorter than the previous I5, giving the engine its name. The engine will be offered in two displacements initially
