Of course, I just saw this today on www.bringatrailer.com - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 500wt_1061
It's wrong in so many ways (4 cylinder gasoline, right-hand drive) but it IS a stick!
WTB Volvo 240 Diesel Wagon
it's funny... stop and go is why I like sticks... better mileage, more control. Plenty of stop and go in Portland. Not as bad a chicago but I'd take a stick there anyday as well. Might have actually found my diesel 240 wagon... I'll keep peeps posted!

The 240 was a major let-down at 80 hp. The 740 was a bit of a real car at 110hp with a turbo.
I enjoyed my 745 for 10 years, but was happy to let it go.
The 245 diesel was made for one thing: conversion to a V-8 gas engine.

when you find this dream car do yourself a favor and put a cheapy electric pump back under car to push fuel up to injection pump. NAPA has a Carter electric pump for $60 that is perfect. The seals on pump and return lines between injectors are notorious for leaking but only letting air in and not really letting fuel out. The fuel system relies on an air lock via good sealing to keep fuel in the injection pump. Electric pump will have a check valve and fuel filter changes will be a breeze with electric pump.
WVO is almost always more viscous and the injection pump's internal lift pump is not up to the task on the Bosch pump on that car.
Admit it, you are really only doing this because you like the smell of french fries.

My wagon is not diesel but that last year 1993 with 84,000 original miles in super condition. The automatic overdrive works well and it gas great gas mileage.
No rust in Florida. None nicer.
