Oil Dipstick tells all
I recently ordered a new oil dipstick for my 850 Volvo (no turbo). After a couple of days the part was sent to me. I raised up the hood, pulled out the old stick and it was really gummy. The oil that was on the stick looked almost like it was in jelly-form? Any help?

add a quart of tranny fluid (it has some great detergents to get that crap cleaned) after driving for an hour straight, go get your oil changed and I like to use "mobile clean 7500 10w 30" from walmart......buy your own oil filter and make sure it has a check valve {do not use a fram} walmart is a good place to have an oil change!
that milkshake crap is common, most the time it is from not using the right oil, to get a good compression is real important for a volvo, and the filter must have a check valve - that keeps the oil at the top of your engine so it stays lubed!

Do what robert213 says and increase your oil change interval to 2k miles for awhile. Also whats on your dipstick is not always an exact indicator of whats in your oil pan/engine. The crud tends to form on dipsticks that dont get pulled every time you fill your gas tank, which is a good habit on higher mileage cars.
