Post by Bonez »

After a head gasket replacement the valve cover is leaking oil. Used permatex copper spary. I need to reseal but can I just remove the cover?

You are supposed to seal that with Anaerobic sealant. I used Permatex 51813 Anaerobic Gasket Maker.

Yes, you can just pull off the Cam Cover and then clean off the mating surfaces throughly. Coat the sealing surfaces with the Permatex 51813 and then put it back on using even pressure.
