Purchase of 2002 XC70 with 60k miles

I am interested in the opinions of the 2002 XC70 as I am considering purchasing one. What are some headaches, surprise costs and MPG experiences. I've read some of the recent comments and was looking for additional input. Thanks, Jon

I'm also looking for one in that range, except one year newer. Reason: newer AWD system on 2003+.

On any Volvo, look for maint. records of course.

On AWDs, look for same brand/size/wear on the tires.

I'd render my opinion, but I'm biased.....towards Japanese......now. If you can make the rationalizatins, it's still a better choice than an Audi if you must have "cachet"...but follow Matts advice - don't consider anything without Haldex & if it seems too cheap to be true, run.
