+1 for fcpgroton being reasonable and no hassle on returns.
A couple of years ago I needed a new starter for my '96 850. When I called to order a Bosch, FCP's guy recommended another brand that was new, not rebuilt and had no core charge. I said OK, but I was not happy with the sound that my new starter made after installing it and wanted to swap it for the OEM Bosch. I emailed FCP and explained that the starter "worked", I was just not happy with the noise it made. I also did not want to have to remove the starter and return it until I had the Bosch in hand so I could make the swap. I got a quick response that they would ship out the Bosch and credit me for the other starter when I returned it. I think that was good customer service.

Placed a small order at fcpgroton.com about 1:30pm this afternoon. (Under $90. I needed heater hoses to stop a leak or I would have waited until I could put together a $150 order and get free shipping.) Got a call from them about 4:30pm telling me that my credit card had not gone through yet and my order was showing a balance due. (Meaning it wasn't getting shipped until this glitch got cleared up.) I had chosen UPS 2nd day shipping and I was hoping to get the parts by Wednesday.
Checked my credit card online and the charge was showing on my account, so I called back to give them this information. They put me on hold to check on it and within a couple of minutes, they found the credit card approval had finally shown up on their account, but it was now 4:45 pm and I had my doubts about the order going out the door today. When I asked, they said, "We're picking it now and doing our best to get it out." A few minutes later, I got an email time stamped 4:58 pm with the UPS tracking number. Order shipped in full and should be here on time.
I think that's pretty good customer service and wanted to put in another good word for them. I also ordered a box of parts including some oddball stuff last week and got them on time too. (Clutch kit, rubber vacuum elbows, battery hold down clamp)

Agreed, all of the above. I have never had a problem with them. My first encounter with them was quite by accident. I had just bought my wagon when I started to discover what was just the fuel pump relay. Had it towed to local shop who diagnosed problem as "bad plugs causing the engine to flood" recommendation - Full tune up, plugs wires rotor cap and wires, cost - $680
! Why $680, because they were using genuine AC/Delco parts
.
So I started looking on ebay, found the tune up kit from FCP for $121 shipped and did the work in about an hour. That was the first work I did on this car and I have been DIY ever since, with much thanks to and help from FCP.
BTW, no joke, that indy shop motto is "We test, not guess"

Agreed, FCP is pretty awesome. The prices are not bad, and they have knowledgeable people answering e-mail questions. And they're able to source a lot from what I've seen. Friended them on facebook for the heck of it
