Just about a month ago i had my ac compressor replaced because it started to go bad. It was just in time too because it was starting to get into the 90s here in Houston. Now that summer is in full swing, it's reaching temperatures inside my car that feel like 120 degrees. Unfortunately for me i cant feel any cold air coming out of my vents, even after the car has been running a while.
I always turn my ac and stereo off before i turn my car off, i've been told this helps with your car starting. And when i turn my car on i always have to torn my ac on full blast. I also know that the ac is not going to be super cold right after you turn it on. However, it should be at least a little chilly after youve been driving for 20 minutes. I'm not sure why my ac isnt getting cold. I mean, the air coming out isnt hot, its more like toom temperature. But on a 100 degree day, room temperature doesn't cut it.
Now, before i got my ac compressor replaced i went to auto zone and got one of those ac recharge kits and recharged my ac compressor. After i did that, the ac was ice cold coming out of the vents. It was nice. So, i figured maybe i should just do that again. I did the exact same thing i did last time. However, i did not notice a single different. $20 down the drain.
Any suggestions? All of the work and parts that i had replaced came with a one year warranty so its not like i'd have to pay for any work; but if its a simple fix i'd rather not bother to bring it back in.
New AC compressor yet no cold air

sounds like the refrigerant leaked out but it is not clear if it ever cooled after new compressor waa fitted.
Turning off a/c and radio on a modern car is TOTALLY unnecessary. The accessories all go off while starter is engaged and the compressor and blower are delayed on when it is running. That practice became obsolete in the early 80's on Volvos and soon after on all others.
