S70 Headlight bulb replacement

Post by gold70 »

Hi everyone, have a '99 S70 AWD with one headlight out. Can this bulb be replaced by myself? If so how? Any suggestions for specific bulb type or standard autozone product will do? Never replaced a bulb in this car before!

On the 850 it is very easy to get to the bulb for replacement. It should be just as easy for the S70. In from the back side - I believe there was a plastic tab that had to be pressed and it released the complete assy.

Anybody with S70 experiance and not going off CRS memory cells?

'96 854 - died an early death with 184K miles. Killed by the front end of an LTD on a suicide mission (T-boned and both cars totaled).

I have a 98 S70. Assuming it's the same, you'll find a large round cap (about 4 inches) that unscrews and gives you access to the bulb. Pull off the wire connector and then the spring clips that hold the bulb in. Remove the bulb and insert the new one. Simple, easy quick, 5 minutes tops. I suggest you buy the bulb(s) from a place like FCPgroton.com or myswedishparts.com I would order 1 and a spare to carry in the glovebox.

Be careful not to touch the glass portion of the bulb or it will cause premature failure of the bulb.
