Symptoms of a Faulty MAF?

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Symptoms of a Faulty MAF?

Post by robbtagg »

I have a 1999 Volvo S80.

When I reset the computer and start it up, it idles fine, slight (I mean slight hesitation), but overall idles well.

After taking it on the road then coming to a stop it begins to hesitate a lot and the exhaust starts to smell really rich.

I get Codes P1171, P1174, and P0171.

The Fuel/Air mixture is not correct.

Are these signs of a faulty MAF?

O2 Sensor?

But if it was an O2 sensor, wouldn't it be showing a code for it?

I definitely think it is a Computer problem and not a vacuum leak.

My understanding, a vacuum leak would not be temporarily corrected when the computer is reset.

I just ordered a new MAF, I'll update when I get it in. Any thoughts or ideas would be helpful. Thanks
