need help '99 XC with 52k miles

Post by stationwagon »

I have a '99 XC with 52k miles. Recently the ABS and traction lights
randomly turn on and turn off. Sometimes the red brake light even comes on.
However, there is never any change in the braking for the worse. I thought it might be the ABS sensor but now the check engine light will come on and the speedo will turn off on occasion. I also hear the radio volume drop a little and I even lost engine power once. Then out of the blue everything snaps back in place and all idiot lights go off.
Anyone have an idea as to what is going wrong???

Sounds like dying battery or failing ignition switch to me.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

How old is the battery?

Auto parts stores in the US -- don't know where you are -- will test batteries for free.
