Inside rear view mirror bubble ????

Greetings fellow Volvo owners. It's hot here in NW Arkansas....really hot! My 2002 S60 2.4T was outside my garage all day yesterday with the windows up. It got up to 108 degrees! This morning, I get in to go to work. I look in my rear view mirror and there was a "blemish" in the middle of the mirror.....in the shape of an narrow oval. The view in this oval was blurry but the surrounding area was very clear. While driving to work the oval area began to migrate up. I can see now that the oval is a bubble between the outer glass and the inner reflective part. If I go around a big sweeping curve I can see the liquid medium move gradually to the outside forcing the bubble the opposite direction. I assume the glass delaminated or separated due to the heat. Has anyone had this occur to their mirror? I want to remove and replace but am unable to find out how to remove the inside rear view mirror. I haven't located a new mirror yet since this only happened yesterday/today. Where do you get your parts? Any info suggestions or comments are welcome.

You can DIY, Volvo Dealer, local Tint Shop, or Auto Glass repair shop. A new one (dealership) or one of these ads above. A used one, your local salvage yard or Erie Volvo above ad. In your forum (V70...2001-2010) or the Repair Database above and search. I'm very certain someone has changed their rearview mirror.

The inside rear view mirror assembly on that car also houses a computer and it can't be willy-nilly swapped with whatever fits.
The rear view mirror on that car has a darkening function when headlights approach from rear. There is an oil in the mirror that can change color when current is applied. The mirrors can leak the oil out and you end up with the air bubble or as more leaks it will sort of act like a level sensor. Yep, no lie, your mirror has an oil leak.
The bad part is it is expensive to replace the mirror since it is serviced as a whole mirror with computer. IF you or someone is into dismantling and soldering electrical things then a used mirror assembly taken apart and the mirror part swapped into yours will fix it.
