Cables inside a hollow housing (tube) runs from the motor to a gearbox on the hinge for seatback on either side of seat.
The cables can walk into the gearbox and disengage from the motor and then only the side with connected cable moves.
One repair ($$$$) is a new cable and housing.
The other repair is to shorten the housing 7/16 of an inch.
Partially remove cover on the side affected. take the cable loose from the gearbox.
Pull the cable out of housing.
Heat the metal end of housing and slide off the housing.
Push dimples that act as retainers for the metal end back out by forcing the apprpopriate sized 1/4 drive socket down into the metal end piece.
Cut 7/16" off the plastic housing.
Slide the end piece back onto hosuing and then crimp the dimples inward with side cutters.
Slide the cable back into housing.
Operate the seatback switch to get seatback sides parallel and then reinstall the cable end back into gearbox and secure with its screw and refit cover.
