chipping V70 T5

How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

Want to chip my 1998 V70 T5.
A workshop recomended UNICHIP.
Anybody head about this chip ? How good is it ?
This chip will piggyback on the original stock chip and overide the configurations.
Any advise comments apreciated. Thanks.

I am not familiar with the Unichip, there are a lot of good chips on the market, but there are also a lot of BAD chips. A poorly coded chip can have disasterous effects on an engine, I recently looked at one where the fuel and ignition mapping was a definite improvement over the stock chip, but all the safegaurds were removed, (knock, cold start, overheat timing advance) This chip may be fine for a race car but not a daily driver. This might just be an isolated bad example but you should be aware.

I would suggest you start by contacting iPd @ http://www.ipdusa.com and TME @ http://www.tme.com/e_main.htm . Both of these companies specialize in performance parts for Volvo and have well tested computer upgrades.
