Brake booster repair?

I've got an intermittent hissing from around my brake pedal. When I tap the brake pedal once or twice or wiggle on the accordion grommet on the booster, it stops. I am assuming I need a new brake booster. Two questions for the forum: Can I reseal the grommet to the booster and get another year or two? If not, can I get by with a used booster or should I buy a new booster?

The annoying thing is that I just replaced the master cylinder... couldn't they just have gone at the same time so I just have to do the repair once? Which I guess brings up the question if the master cylinder didn't seal correctly to the booster and that could be causing the hiss? Would I be hearing that as loudly inside the car?

My bet would be the install of the Master Cylinder was fine. I have had a hiss from the brake pedal for awhile. It is a common fault. I have heard of folks manipulating the the grommet on the booster to get more time. If the reseal does not work, you'll just have to get a new brake booster anyhow, so its probably worth a shot.
