My 05 T6 has about 245,000 kms (150,000 miles) on it and recently began chunking while shifting from first to second, but only when its hot. Then recently during the 100 plus degree weather, it actually reved in first then klunked as it engaged. This only happened twice.
I went to a local transmission shop where they changed the oil and filter, no more first gear hesitation, but it has chunked a couple of times while shifting into second.....anyone ever had similar problems. By the way, there were no metal shavings in the pan when the oil was changed. Could this be minor or does it seem more serious.
My Volvo dealer wants $275. just to do a diognostics report.

I am not sure what is triggering your shifting issues. Do you notice the same symptoms when it is not so hot? I would seriously consider an atf cooler. It may not solve the problem totally but it won't hurt. I just installed one in my 850 and it has helped with shifting issues. I also have a manual override switch for cooling fan so I can turn it on all the time. I live in Florida and drive stop & go so I know hot
