i recently got this 81 volvo 244 dl.
last weekend i went to change the plugs and install ngk's.
when i went to put the wire on the first plug, i found it odd that the wire would not fit. i looked at the bosch plug and noticed that the end that mates to the wire was not flared (like every other spark plug i have ever seen) but instead had more a straight pin looking end. also the wire had a metal piece around where it connected to the wire.
i thought "oh wierd german stuff (bosch being the wired german thingy, not the volvo)" and ordered a set of bosch plugs from a volvo place online. much to my surprise they showed up and had ends just like the NGK plugs.
any idea whats with the plugs and wires in the car? i guess i should just buy a new set of wires and use the NGK plugs?
any info would be appreciated,
thanks,
mike

I guess you could remove the "tip" of the plug where the wire clips on. It should screw off. then the wires will fit...hope this helps...G/L
