2003 V40 Radio problem

Post by MooseDontBounce »

Everyone:

I just purchased a used 2003 V40 and I'm having a problem with the radio. It seems to just stop working like it's dead. I have been able to put the key in first position then reenter the code to get the radio/CD player working again. After a day or 2 it will just stop working again. Everything else in the car seems to work fine. The battery hasn't been disconnected and the car hasn't lost power.

Any suggestions on what to do to keep the radio working?

Sincerely,
Dale Williams

I had the same problem. If the radio does not show anything on the display and you have tried the code fix already, it's most likely a fuse. They are cheap to fix. The fuse is either #7 or #9.

I'll check them out and let you know if that fixes the problem. Thanks for the help.

I checked the fuses and they look fine. I'll probably try and replace them and see if that help.

Well I finally replaced the 2 radio fuses and that seems to have fixed the problem. They don't look bad but obviously there was a problem.

Thanks,
Dale
