Hi all,
Do you think this method for programming a new fob for a 2000 S40 will work? It seems simple and would save a bunch of money. But I don't want to go out and buy a blank fob if someone knows it won't work!

Thanks!

The article is how to program a remote control, not to be confused with a blank key.
My friendly local Volvo dealer (Bilia in Hawthorn) advised me that foreign remotes bought from international markets will not work in Australia due to the cars in Oz responding ONLY to unique frequencies intended for OUR markets only.
Sounds a little far fetched to me but I guess you could always experiment with a used remote from an Aussie scrapyard, rather than a new one bought overseas online. At least you can bring it back if the procedure doesn't work if it's from a local guy.
I'll keep the info in the article, though; you never know when it may come in handy
