What is this? Factory or aftermarket? The car is an S70.

I have only ever seen those on S70 AWD models. Not exactly sure why they're not on the other AWD wagons, but I believe they're factory.

So does my 2000 V70 XC.

I must say, that with this car I have had a lot less trouble with ice/snow chuggers filling up the rear wheel well (on some prior cars I had to make a habit of clearing the rear wheel well if I had driven on sticky slush or snow, like the crud we get around here when they put sand and salt on top of a couple of inches of frozen stuff). Maybe that's what it's for?
